| This digital photo was taken quite a distance from the West Quoddy Head Light House, on the cliff walk trail that meanders along this austere portion of the Maine coast. The tides here are the deepest along the entire east coast, and it is easy to see how that is. The visual impact of the spectacular cliffs cannot be overstated. Even if you have visited other areas along the coast, this Maine light house setting is like none other. Dramatic cliffs, fresh ocean air, whale watching, and bird watching make this Maine location a must see. If you only visit the light house you have seen only a portion of all this Maine coastal region has to offer. And because not many people venture north of Bar Harbor, this site is not congested like some other Maine summer vacation spots. |
